Good legal secretaries don't really need to job hunt.
But if you're going to move, move somewhere that'll actually value you.
I'm recruiting for a boutique firm in the Brisbane CBD that specialises in Resources, Planning and Environmental law.
They've built a genuinely strong reputation and they're known for being cooperative, doing high quality work, and treating their people properly.
The office looks straight out over the river, which doesn't hurt either.
You'll be supporting a small, close-knit team of lawyers with the day to day:
Legal support responsibilities:
- Diary management, including meetings, conferences and travel
- Preparing and formatting correspondence, legal documents and reports
- Billing and accounts processing
- Coordinating banking, Court filing and mail
Here’s the part worth paying attention to.
For the right person, this grows into a Senior Legal Secretary and Office Manager role,
running the Brisbane office alongside the Practice Manager and taking real ownership of how the place operates.
If you want more than a standard secretary job, it's there for the taking. If you don't, that's fine too!
- Coordinating the day-to-day administration of the Brisbane office
- Acting as the primary point of contact for office and facilities matters
- Coordinating office maintenance, repairs and contractors
- Onboarding new Brisbane staff
- Supporting office events and staff activities
- Working closely with the Practice Manager on operational initiatives
What you'll bring:
- A couple of years or more in legal support
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and a careful eye for detail
- That quiet knack for keeping a busy team organised
- A willingness to take on the office management side if the bigger role appeals
