Our client is a Tier 1 contractor and developer powerhouse that handles complex projects internationally. With a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of projects, they are now looking to welcome an experience lawyer to join their established Legal team as a Senior Legal Counsel.
The Legal Team
This role will see you report into the General Counsel while working closely with a high calibre legal and commercial team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and advising on the terms of construction contracts at tender stage including D&C;, GC21 and ECI agreements.
- Providing advice to tender team in relation to risk allocations, delays, EOT’s, termination/suspension, security and retention regimes, scope and pricing.
- Post tender negotiations with clients and sub-contractors.
- Providing legal advice to stakeholders across construction and corporate.
- Reviewing and advising on contracts across corporate - HR and IT.
- Coordinate and oversee external legal counsel.
- Advise on risk management by identifying legal risks in project development and construction phases.
- Assist with regulatory compliance matters, including environmental and planning issues.
- Providing proactive advice on legal and commercial issues and managing contractual risks to minimise disputes.
Ideal Candidate
- For Legal Counsel 7 + years PQE with projects and construction experience.
- Solid technical construction law skill set encompassing contract drafting, negotiation, and advisory work.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-party transactions with a commercial and solutions-focused mindset.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, thriving in a lean and high-performing team.
