Their clients aren't small start-ups. You'll manage a portfolio of established businesses, each with annual turnovers exceeding $5 million, giving you exposure to complex commercial environments across multiple industries.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This role combines technical accounting expertise with commercial thinking, client relationship management and leadership. Reporting directly to a Partner, you'll become a trusted adviser to a significant portfolio of business clients while leading and developing a team of six accountants.

You'll oversee approximately 300–400 active client relationships, ensuring every client receives exceptional service, practical advice and proactive support. Most importantly, you'll help clients understand why the numbers matter—not simply what they are.





WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As Senior Accountant, you'll:

- Manage a large portfolio of established business clients

- Build trusted, long-term relationships with business owners and key stakeholders

- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards

- Prepare and review taxation returns across companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals and SMSFs

- Manage BAS, IAS, FBT, payroll tax and compliance obligations

- Provide proactive tax planning and commercial business advice

- Analyse financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and cash flow

- Explain complex financial information in a way clients genuinely understand

- Review work completed by junior team members and provide coaching and technical guidance

- Work alongside a Partner on complex client matters and strategic advisory projects

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

- Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline

- CA or CPA qualified (or actively working towards qualification)

- Strong Australian public practice accounting experience

- Excellent knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and compliance

- Robust capability across Xero, MYOB, Microsoft Excel and cloud accounting systems

- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills

- Outstanding attention to detail

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Experience managing client relationships and delivering exceptional service

- Provide what software can't—critical thinking, commercial insight and trusted client advice
