East Village Hotel is a Gastro pub located in Balmain, serving classics & daily specials. We are looking for a strong Jr. Sous Chef to join our team to assist with ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations. Providing leadership, guidance and support to the team and maintain a positive working workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee food production & presentation, ensuring high quality and consistency of dishes
- Assist in all sections of the kitchen when required during service
- Ensure kitchen is ready & set up for service
- Ensure kitchen is compliant with food safety regultions
- Supervise and guide BOH team during shift, ensuring quality and consistent output
- Recruit, mentor, train & develop crew members
Experience:
- 1-2 years experience as a Jr.Sous Chef or 3+ years experience as CDP
- Deep understanding of food and effective team management
- Strong communication skills, able to effectively liaise with team members and guests
- Commitment to upholding health and safety compliance in a busy and fast paced kitchen environment.
- Effective leadership skills with focus on staff development
- Experience in rostering, ordering and basic financials
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to build effective relationships
- Must be able to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
