East Village Hotel is a Gastro Pub located in Balmain, serving classic dishes and daily specials. Affectionately nicknamed ‘The EVH’ by our locals, we are proudly pokie-free, dog friendly, and the only remaining hotel in East Balmain. Conveniently located only 100 metres from the East Balmain Ferry, we are just one ferry ride from Barangaroo.

We are currently seeking a full-time Cook to join our team.

As a Cook, you will prepare, season and cook food while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene and food safety. You will contribute to efficient kitchen operations and support the delivery of consistent, high-quality meals within a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities:

- Examining food to ensure quality and freshness
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- Preparing, cooking and seasoning food according to menu requirements
- Portioning food, plating meals and adding sauces and garnishes
- Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
- Preparing food to meet dietary and special customer requirements




- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in food preparation and kitchen areas
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering food supplies and ingredients
- Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and workplace health and safety procedures
- Assisting with menu planning and estimating food requirements where required
- Supporting kitchen operations and assisting with training junior kitchen staff where required

Experience and Qualifications:

- Minimum 1 year of commercial kitchen experience
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience will be highly regarded
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $77,000.00 – $78,000.00 per year
