About Us

Polymetals (ASX: POL) acquired the Endeavor Mine in 2023 and formally took control in August 2024. Endeavor is a major underground silver/lead/zinc mine, located 40km north-west of Cobar in Central-West NSW. Since then, Polymetals has delivered an initial 10-year mine plan, secured two US $20million (A$30million) loan facilities, have restarted mining operations and have begun 24/7 concentrate production.

It’s an exciting time for Endeavor and the Cobar region, with significant employment opportunities now on the market for the Endeavor Mine restart: one of Australia’s major base metals mines.

The Role

As Endeavor Mine continues its high-level production and performance, we are seeking an experienced, trade-qualified Fixed Plant / Mechanical Fitter to join our fixed plant maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

- Perform scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs on fixed plant equipment, including our ore processing facilities, underground shaft and hoisting system, conveyors, crushers, and pumping systems.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical components to ensure effective plant operation.
- Conduct regular inspections and adjustments to maintain equipment reliability.
- Collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to address equipment issues swiftly.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:





- Trade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
- Previous experience in underground mining (preferred not essential).
- Strong knowledge of mobile and/or fixed plant equipment maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Willingness to work on a continuous 7/7 roster system (rotating shifts).

DIDO / FIFO / Residential – 7/7 or 14/14 roster:

- DIDO: Within NSW (preferably 500km radius). Travel allowance, accommodation and meals / meal allowance provided
- FIFO: To Cobar via Sydney airport. Flights, accommodation and meals / meal allowance provided
- Residential: resides in Cobar with residential and lifestyle allowance provided

Cobar Cobar is a well-established mining town with shopping, education and health services and a range of recreation, social and sporting facilities. Cobar is only 3 hours' drive from the major regional city of Dubbo. Cobar is very accessible to all the Eastern States capitals with daily flights between Cobar and Sydney and is within one days’ driving distance to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
