About The Branch
We have an exciting opportunity in the Waste and Resource Recovery Branch of our Environment, Heritage and Resilience Department. This position is in our Waste and Resource Recovery Planning business unit, working with other areas of the Branch and key internal and external stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to make a difference for the Gold Coast in one of the commercial business areas of the City.
About Your New Role
An opportunity exists within the Waste and Resource Recovery Infrastructure Planning team for a Project Manager to manage waste reporting, landfill planning data and strategy compliance information. This role will work with internal and external stakeholders, playing an significant role in managing and planning for resource recovery across the Gold Coast.
Responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
- Manage landfill management data to inform decision-making and compliance of our landfill planning.
- Inform new service and trial planning through data management of various waste streams and facilities.
- Liaise with the other internal areas of the City and the Waste and Resource Recovery branch to ensure that City meets it’s reporting requirements.
- Assist in developing and implementing strategic models, plans, and frameworks that promote resource recovery and safe waste management.
- Analyse and review existing processes and practices to ensure they deliver sound business value.
- Provide expert technical advice articulating concepts in plain English, ensuring consistency and clarity of advice.
- Conform to policies, procedures and legislative requirements; ensuring design output meets quality, Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental standards.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as directed to support team and organisational objectives.
What You Bring To Your New Role
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Waste Management or Equivalent Knowledge.
- You will have worked in local government.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships, internal and external.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
