About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to work at Box Hill Institute as our Teacher - AMEP . This is a fixed term opportunity based at our Elgar Campus but can be expected to work across any campus of the BHI Group and sites based on demand. This position reports directly to the Site Manager AMEP - Elgar, and sits within the AMEP area of the Foundation Education College.

What you'll do:

- Deliver high quality and engaging training in English and settlement topics within the EAL framework
- Monitor, evaluate and assess student success in English Language progression and achieving qualifications,
- Prepare high quality lesson plans that map client learning needs and help students achieve their Individual Pathway Goals
- Ensure AMEP, SEE & BHI compliance requirements are met including accurate marking of class attendance using BHI systems.
- Assess student progress in accordance with reporting systems.
- Perform Initial Assessments, Progressive Assessments and participate and provide input to verifications taking corrective action where required.
- Provide pathway guidance to improve student employment and education outcomes

About you:

- Victorian Working with Children Check clearance
- National Police Check clearance

Qualifications and experience:

- Relevant industry qualification
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/22) or a qualification at diploma level or higher in Adult Education
- An Australian undergraduate degree or equivalent and a post graduate qualification that includes a supervised teaching practicum which involves Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) / TESOL; or a 4 year Bachelor of Education qualification with a TESL / TESOL method; Postgraduate TESOL qualification in Adult Education




- Current and sound experience in the relevant field
- Ability to design and deliver logical, succinct, up-to-date and engaging course materials and lessons.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems (i.e. Moodle) to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for students
- Ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards, including unit plans and assessment tools
