About the Position
This is a fixed term, 12 month contract that will provide leadership and coordination in relationto strategic waste management initiatives, including theimplementation of landfill diversion initiatives, contractmanagement, infrastructure upgrades, community education programsand leadership of the waste management team.
About the Person
The successful person will have theability to work cooperatively and effectively with others toachieve common goals as well as having demonstrated ability to leadand effectively manage a team. They must be able to communicate theCity’s vision and values in ways that gain the support ofothers and have the ability to influence and negotiate withinternal and external stakeholders. Extensive experience andknowledge in waste management and resource recovery is essential,as is substantial experience and awareness of the current trendsand issues in waste management. Experience in delivering outcomesin a project environment will be vital.
It is imperative that youhold a relevant Tertiary Qualification in Environmental Science,Sustainability or similar.
