About Galactic Donuts

Galactic Donuts is a fun, bold and fast-growing donut brand with a strong personality and a love for community. We are looking for a local Townsville-based marketing and content person who can help us bring the Townsville store to life online and in the local community.

This role would suit someone creative, confident, organised and comfortable being out and about filming content, speaking with local businesses, and helping launch fun campaigns around Townsville.

About the role

We are looking for a Townsville Marketing & Content Coordinator to support local social media content, community marketing and campaign activity.

This is a hands-on contractor role. You will help capture content in-store and around Townsville, film reels and behind-the-scenes moments, identify local opportunities, and liaise with businesses, schools, clubs, events and community groups for local marketing campaigns.

You will work closely with the Marketing Coordinator, who will guide the overall brand direction, campaign ideas and social media strategy.

Key responsibilities

- Visit the Townsville Galactic Donuts store to capture social media content
- Film short-form video content for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
- Capture photos, behind-the-scenes moments, product content and customer/community moments
- Help create Townsville-specific content ideas based on local trends, events and audiences
- Assist in liaising with local businesses, schools, clubs, charities, events and organisations for campaign opportunities
- Help coordinate local collaborations, giveaways, activations and community partnerships




- Attend local locations or events when needed to capture content or support campaigns
- Send content, updates and campaign ideas through to the Marketing Coordinator
- Schedule posts, reply to comments and messages, post on stories and remain active on Galactic Donut’s socials in general
- Keep an eye out for local opportunities that could help grow the Galactic Donuts brand in Townsville
- Represent the brand in a friendly, professional and energetic way

About you

You do not need to be a corporate marketing expert. We are looking for someone who understands social media, enjoys creating content and is confident speaking with people in the community.

You would be a great fit if you are:

- Based in Townsville
- Confident filming and creating social media content
- Comfortable being in-store and interacting with staff, customers and local organisations
- Creative, organised and proactive
- Friendly and confident when reaching out to local businesses or community groups
- Able to work independently and manage your own time
- Familiar with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and short-form video trends
- Able to follow brand direction while bringing local ideas to the table
- Reliable with communication and deadlines

Requirements

- Must be based in Townsville
- Must have your own phone or camera suitable for filming content




- Must be available to visit the Townsville store and local locations as needed
- Must be comfortable liaising with local organisations and community contacts
- Previous experience in marketing, content creation, social media, events, community engagement or brand ambassador work is preferred
- Experience using Meta to schedule and post content
- ABN preferred, or willingness to work as a contractor

Nice to have

- Experience creating reels, TikToks or social media content for a brand
- Basic editing skills using CapCut, Canva, Instagram, TikTok or similar tools
- Existing knowledge of the Townsville community, events, schools, clubs or local business scene
- Confidence appearing on camera or directing others for content

Hours and working arrangement

This is a adaptable contractor role for up to 30 hours per month. Hours may vary depending on campaign activity, store needs, events and content requirements.

Some work will be done in-store or at local Townsville locations, with some planning, editing and communication able to be completed remotely.
