Bakers Delight Balmain is seeking a confident, self-motivated and results-driven Sales Manager with strong retail sales experience, excellent communication skills and a proven ability to grow sales in a busy customer-focused environment.

About the Role

As Sales Manager, you will work closely with the Bakery Manager to lead, train and develop the Sales Team. You will help achieve sales targets, maintain merchandising and customer service standards, support marketing campaigns and ensure the bakery operates in line with Bakers Delight 5 Star standards.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to take ownership of sales performance, make a real impact and bring their own energy, ideas and leadership style to a successful bakery team.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

- Drive bakery sales through marketing campaigns, focus products and individual staff performance
- Work with the Bakery Manager to set, monitor and achieve sales targets
- Train the Sales Team in customer service, product knowledge, upselling, merchandising and food safety
- Maintain high standards of shop presentation, dress code, cleanliness and customer service
- Assist with merchandising plans and preparing the shop for marketing campaigns
- Liaise with the Baking Team to ensure consistent product quality, availability and presentation
- Provide feedback on product quality, stock levels and customer feedback
- Assist with rostering, staff availability, shift swaps and leave replacement
- Monitor wastage, assist with daily banking and complete stocktake duties when required
- Train and induct new Sales Team Members
- Maintain training records,



competency records and staff development plans
- Provide regular positive and constructive feedback to team members
- Motivate, coach and encourage staff to achieve individual and team goals
- Support recruitment of new Sales Team Members
- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment in line with WH&S;, HACCP, Food Safety Program requirements and Bakers Delight standards

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

- Retail sales experience, preferably in food, bakery, hospitality or a fast-paced customer service environment
- A proven record of growing sales and achieving targets
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Robust leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop staff
- The ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
- A genuine commitment to total customer satisfaction
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and self-motivated approach
- Confidence in training team members and providing constructive feedback
- A commitment to high standards in cleanliness, presentation, food safety and customer service

A Certificate III in Retail Traineeship or similar qualification would be highly regarded.

Training and Development

At Bakers Delight Balmain, we value ongoing training and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will complete and stay up to date with relevant Bakers Delight training modules, including induction, recurring training, campaign modules, product knowledge, merchandising, food safety and customer service training.

You will also help ensure the Sales Team understands and follows Bakers Delight systems, standards, 5 Star expectations and campaign requirements.
