Head of IT Security / Associate Director of IT Security

Location: Dublin City Centre (Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite)

€100-120k plus package

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Head of IT Security / Associate Director of IT Security to join a growing security function in a well established organisation. You work closely with the CISO to shape and deliver the organisation's security strategy.

This is a unique prospect for a technically strong security leader who enjoys remaining hands-on while also driving security initiatives, influencing stakeholders, and building high-performing teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting and evolving the organisation's security posture across infrastructure, cloud, applications, and emerging technologies, including AI.

As a trusted partner to the CISO, you will help define security roadmaps, lead critical security programmes, and provide technical leadership across the wider technology organisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with the CISO to deliver security strategy and key security initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership across security engineering, vulnerability management, threat management, networking, and systems security.
- Lead and enhance security operations, monitoring, and incident response capabilities.




- Manage and optimise vulnerability management programmes, including Qualys.
- Drive the adoption and optimisation of Microsoft security technologies.
- Engage with senior stakeholders across technology and the wider business.
- Mentor and develop team members, with the opportunity to grow the security team over time.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-related security risks and opportunities.

Required Experience

- Proven experience in a senior security leadership role.
- Strong hands-on technical background across infrastructure and cyber security.
- Experience working within Microsoft-centric environments, including:
- Microsoft Defender
- Microsoft Sentinel
- Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Microsoft 365 Security
- Azure Security

- Strong knowledge of vulnerability management, threat management, networking, and systems security.
- Experience managing stakeholders and influencing security decisions at a senior level.
- Previous people management experience is desirable.
