About the Opportunity
We’re looking for two Motor Mechanics to join the team and help maintain our heavy vehicles and plant on a permanent, full-time basis. You’ll be part of a supportive workshop environment, working alongside experienced tradespeople. Work on a diverse and modern fleet. Be part of a supportive, skilled team. Gain exposure to new and emerging technologies. Contribute to a service that directly supports the local community.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and servicing on Council vehicles and plant equipment, always prioritising safety and the well‑being of colleagues.
- Carry out maintenance tasks in accordance with industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory regulations and understand the implications of non‑compliance.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- NSW Government Tradespersons Certificate – Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
- Suitable experience in a similar role.
- Minimum Class HR driver’s licence.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
Desirable
- Current Class HC driver’s licence.
- Post‑trade qualifications and experience in this special trade, including heavy vehicle RMS Pink Slip Accreditation, fitting/turning, and knowledge of pumps.
- Computer literate.
Remuneration and Benefits
- Entry level starting at $1,362.15 per week, plus an additional 21.8% in accordance with Council’s Workshop Flexibility Agreement.
- 38‑hour working week.
- Rotating shift hours.
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight.
