Are you passionate about leading a dynamic team in a bustling bakery café environment? We're seeking a dedicated and skilled Bakery / Café Manager to oversee all aspects of our Richmond Store’s operation.
Penny for Pound, a leader in Melbourne's wholesale bakery scene for over 7 years, is seeking a Full-Time Manager for our Richmond location.
**The Opportunity**:
Are you a passionate hospitality professional aiming to step into a managerial position? We're in need of a committed Full-Time Manager to lead our Richmond team in providing unparalleled customer service, whilst serving Melbourne's finest pastries, cakes and coffee.
**The Location**:
Located right in the heart of Bridge Road, our original stomping grounds. A retail focused bakery storefront, serving Axil Coffee on the bar, and our own house made cakes, bread and pastries - baked daily by our dedicated team each morning.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and execute efficient staff rosters to ensure optimal coverage during peak hours while maximizing team productivity.
- Supervise both in-store and online orders, ensuring timely and accurate fulfilment to exceed customer expectations.
- Showcase expertise in specialty coffee preparation, including latte art and dialling in espresso machines, to deliver top-quality beverages.
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service, resolving any issues promptly and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for patrons.
- Foster the professional development of our team members, providing training opportunities and guidance to elevate their skills and advance their careers.
- Collaborate with senior management to implement strategies for business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Management of opening and closing procedures, and ensuring full compliance in council inspections
- Quality control and feedback to both teams
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in café management, or robust hospitality background, looking to step up to the next level in your career
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- History of staff development is advantageous
- Full working rights in Australia
- Specialty coffee skills are preferred but not mandatory
- Previous experience in a managerial role within the hospitality or food service industry, preferably in a bakery café setting.
- Strong understanding of rostering procedures and inventory management.
- Proficiency in specialty coffee preparation techniques, including latte art and espresso dialling in.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service.
- Proven track record of team leadership and development.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene practices is advantageous.

**Job Type**: Permanent, Full-time with a minimum of one weekend day
