The Grounds of Alexandria is looking to expand our current team of creative, fantastic Bakers!

Based at The Grounds of Alexandria site, we are looking for Bakers of all levels. We have both senior and junior positions available, all with flexible working hours and the opportunity to add to the magic at The Grounds!

What's the Role?

We are on the lookout for passionate and professional bakers who are experienced in baking a wide range of high-quality bakery products, making different types of artisan bread, doughs and pastry. The role involves shift work, therefore there is an expectation to work days & nights but we ensure a work-life balance is always promoted!

Responsibilities of the various roles will include:
Kneading, maturing, cutting, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods

Oven work and deck baking

Ensure equipment always meets occupational health and safety regulations and ensure cleanliness prior to production

Manage inventory and controlled costs

Coordinate the forming, loading, baking, unloading and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products

The Requirements

Must be available on weekends and night shifts.





Competent and experienced in all aspects of baking with proven experience in an artisan bakery environment

Creative flair and passion for producing quality baked goods

Sound knowledge of dough types, including sourdough

Sound knowledge of food safety and safe work practices

Flexibility and availability to work across rotating roster including weekdays and weekends

Reliable, punctual and hardworking

Maintain high-quality standards

Have a team player attitude and high attention to detail

A Certificate III in Patisserie or Bakery preferred

2-3 years of experience as a baker with a passion for creating unique and exceptional bread preferred
