- We are seeking to establish a pool of Student Support Officers (SSO) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

**The Role**

Collie SHS is seeking to create a pool of energetic and motivated individuals. At Collie SHS our moral purpose is to provide opportunities for all students to develop skills, common knowledge,



and resilience through high quality teaching to pursue pathways of their choice.

SSOs strive for success for all students through improving the wellbeing, resilience and pro-social behaviour of students buy working in partnership with the Student Services team. The role requires strong monitoring and management of triage practices and processes. Under the leadership of the Student Services Manager, SSOs will implement explicit processes of support. Exceptional relationship building skills, knowledge, and proven ability to deliver outcome driver interventions will promote high level successes for students and contribute to the functional operation of Student Services.

Suitable applicants will participate in Students at Education Risk (SAER) and case conference meetings within the school and with other agencies as appropriate, including the provision of information and consultancy advice. Suitable applicants will have the oppurtunity to work in partnership with key service providers to coordinate and deliver activities that aim to support and engage SAER. They should have the ability to facilitate restorative meetings to allow students to resolve conflict in a proactive manner and follow up to ensure the agreed outcomes continue beyond these meetings.

We are looking for people who ideally are reliable, relatable,



and preferably have a history of building and maintaining relationships with young adolescents in a school community and with other key stakeholders. They will, under direction, also participate in crisis management and response duties to ensure the best outcomes for young people.

**Eligibility**

To work with us, you must:

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
