The Opportunity

As External Engagement Lead (Moreton Bay), you’ll shape how the University of the Sunshine Coast connects with the world around us, building strong, trusted relationships with local government, industry, employers and community partners. Working as part of our leadership team and under the guidance of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global and Engagement), you’ll grow meaningful collaborations, strengthen our presence across the region, and position UniSC as a partner of choice. You’ll bring people together across the university to ensure our engagement efforts are purposeful, aligned to our strategy, and create real opportunities for our students, our communities and the region we serve.

You will

- lead a coordinated, region-wide approach to external engagement, bringing strategy to life in ways that support our broader university priorities;
- build and nurture strong, enduring partnerships with government, industry and community that amplify the impact of our teaching, research and regional contribution;
- use insight and evaluation to continuously strengthen how we connect externally and improve our internal practices; and
- grow UniSC’s presence, networks and reputation as a trusted partner of choice across the region

You’re someone who enjoys being out in the region, building trusted partnerships and bringing people together around shared goals. You understand how to align big picture strategy with practical action, opening doors for students, shaping workforce opportunities and growing the university’s presence in a fast evolving community. You’re thoughtful, proactive and well organised, able to manage a pipeline of partnerships while keeping a explicit focus on impact. Most of all, you’re motivated by purpose and want your work to make a genuine difference for students, industry and the communities we serve.

You will possess:

- Proven experience leading external engagement in complex environments, bringing strategy, people and partnerships together
- Strong understanding of the Moreton Bay region, with the ability to translate local needs into meaningful collaboration
- Highly effective relationship, negotiation and influencing skills across diverse and senior stakeholders
- Strong leadership, organisation and strategic thinking, with the ability to guide cross-functional work and advise at an executive level
- A data-informed approach to measuring impact,



tracking performance and strengthening outcomes
- Sound understanding of the higher education sector and the role of partnerships in supporting community and regional growth
