- Permanent Part Time (61 hours per fortnight)
- Full-time equivalent salary from $92,871 to $97,857* per annum (pro rata)
- Actual salary range for 61 hours per fortnight: $74,296.80 to $78,285.60* per annum

*The Safety Patrol Officers 25% loading for unsociable hours is incorporated into the above salary as per the City of Wanneroo Salaried Officers Collective Industrial Agreement 2025.

Great opportunity for a community safety–oriented person to become part of our Community Safety Team as a Safety Patrol Officer.

About the Role

The City is seeking an experienced Safety Patrol Officer to join the Community Safety and Emergency Management team. The successful appointee will be responsible for:

- Night shift patrols of the City, including buildings, amenities and identified ‘hot spots’, to deter and report on crime, antisocial behaviour and other areas of concern such as graffiti, vandalism and maintenance issues.
- Responds to City building alarm activations and reports incidents in accordance with policies and procedures, ensuring that the City’s buildings and amenities are secured.
- Liaises with customers and stakeholders, ensuring that information is clearly communicated and issues are resolved in a timely, professional manner.
- Provide compliance action as directed.
- Good understanding of technology over multiple systems and problem solving.
- Be very punctual and have good time management skills.
- Being proactive towards community safety, team harmony and ongoing improvement.

About You

As a team-oriented member of the Community Safety team, the position is accountable for being prompt and providing high level customer service. The successful appointee must be an adaptable, experienced and professional person who is flexible and to problem solve. They must also thrive working in a very busy and change driven environment. As such,



applicants must be able to demonstrate through their CV and covering letter that they meet the following capabilities:

- Proven written and verbal communication skills with a focus on providing strong customer service.
- Proven organisational and administrative skills.
- Proven problem solving, conflict resolution skills and the ability to deal with challenging customers.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of local roads and areas.
- Knowledge of local government local law compliance.
- Ability to remain observant and alert during night-time hours.

Qualifications

- Qualification in a relevant discipline such as Certification II in Security Operations or equivalent experience.
- Current WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Recent National Police Clearance (less than three months old).
- Experience in the efficient utilisation of information systems and technology.
