Location: Alice Springs Correctional Centre, Central Australia

Start Date: 17 February 2025

Contract: Minimum 6 weeks, up to 12 weeks (longer contracts preferred)

Job Summary

Are you ready to have influence in a unique and challenging healthcare environment? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced nurse to join the team at Alice Springs Correctional Centre. This role offers a rare opportunity to provide critical healthcare services in a secure facility, ensuring the well‑being of individuals in custody.

Key Responsibilities





- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to individuals in a custodial setting.
- Perform health assessments, manage acute and chronic conditions, and respond to medical emergencies.
- Collaborate with correctional staff and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
- Uphold professional and ethical standards in a secure environment.

Skills and Experience

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- 4–5 years of post‑graduate experience (experience in Primary Health or corrections highly regarded).
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high‑pressure environment.
