The City of Boroondara is seeking an Application Analyst to join our Technology Platforms team to provide expert support and advice across Council’s business applications. This is a great opportunity in a key role ensuring systems are reliable, secure and fit for purpose.

A little bit about the role

The Application Analyst helps deliver support to Council’s business applications and changes. This role requires developing and maintaining a strong functional and technical understanding of Council’s business applications and supporting Council’s corporate applications to ensure systems meet both operational and service delivery needs to ensure Council can effectively operate. In this varied role, deliverables range from supporting documentation, technical support to providing advice to relevant leadership. The role will manage application maintenance upgrades, configuration and performance optimisation as well as supporting application development activities.

This role works professionally across Council and works closely with service owners, project teams, vendors and end users to support business critical systems, deliver enhancements and contribute to continuous improvement across Council’s business applications,

A little bit about you

You will have strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills along with excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical requirements to non-technical users.



You will have knowledge and experience in application design and development. Demonstrated experience in the provision of level 2 and 3 support for business-critical applications. A strong customer service focus with the ability to establish and maintain relationships and manage competing priorities. Your stakeholder engagement experience will also include requirement gathering and exposure to IT project management. You have experience with ERP, CRM and other corporate systems and understand how to translate broad strategic business requirements into functional/technical requirements.
