**About the Role**
Darebin City Council have an opportunity for a graduate Environmental Health Officer to join our highly motivated Health Protection Team. We’re seeking a proactive applicant that has a focus on self-development and thrives within a team. As the Environmental Health Technician, you will support the Health Protection Team to promote a safe, healthy and liveable environment within the City of Darebin. Working under supportive supervision and guidance, this will include:

- Inspect and ensure compliance of premises registered under various legislation including the Food Act 1984 and Public Health & Wellbeing Act
- Oversee a smaller geographical area and portfolio
- Investigate service requests including residential noise, water, odour and other nuisances
- Provide advice and responses to residents in a timely manner

**Skills & Experience**
- Degree or Diploma of Health Science (Public & Environmental Health)



or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of the Food Legislation and other relevant public health legislation
- Good level verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and as a part of a team
- Current valid driver's licence
