About theRole

Thisrole is responsible for providing field supervision, technicaladvice, and the successful delivery of scheduled small-scaleconstruction projects, along with the implementation of effectivereactive repairs within the playground’s constructionprogram.

Theideal candidate will supervise a crew of operational staff andoversee the installation, renewal, and maintenance of a broad rangeof Townsville City Council open space assets, ensuring all worksare delivered to a high standard of quality, safety, andcompliance.

Working closelywith Team Leaders and technical specialists, the candidate willmanage day-to-day site operations, coordinate resources, andcontribute to planning and problem-solving.



A strong focus will beplaced on meeting operational requirements, ensuring technicalcompliance, maintaining worksite safety, staying within budget, andcommunicating effectively with all relevantstakeholders.

AboutYou

Ourideal candidate will have:

Mandatory

- QLD workingwith children blue card (essential).
- Current manual"C" class driver’s licence with the ability to obtain an"MR" driver’s licence.
- ConstructionIndustry White Card (30215 QLD).
- Certificate IIIin Horticulture or significant experience in managing on-groundoperational crews in the delivery of Horticulturalwork activities.
- Demonstratedexperience leading personnel in the construction ofinfrastructure related to park and open spaceassets.
- Demonstratedexperience of conducting basic survey and set outtasks.
- Demonstratedexperience in concrete laying and finishing.
- Detailedknowledge of construction materials and theirapplication.
- Demonstratedexperience in the application of Quality Assurance processes,in a civil construction environment.
- Certificateassociated with the successful completion of the Secure WorkingNear Live Exposed Parts training course.
- Senior FirstAid Certificate.
- TrafficManagement Implementation (TMI) accreditation under the Manualof Uniform Traffic Control Devices (Part 3 2016)
- Trade basedbackground – preferably construction landscape orcarpentry (highly desirable).
- Knowledge andunderstanding of Australian Playground Safety Standards(AS4685:2021).
- Previousexperience of installation and maintenance of play equipmentand parks assets.
