Job Title: Sous Chef
Location: Gellibrand Cafe, 16 Gellibrand Crescent, Reservoir VIC 3073
Salary Range: $70,000 to $75,000

Our diverse menu features a range of delicious dishes designed to cater to all tastes and dietary needs.
Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role and possess a passion for creating exceptional food. While a Certificate III and IV in Cooking is preferred, it is not essential. If you're dedicated, hardworking, and eager to contribute to a thriving cafe environment, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the daily kitchen operations.
- Help with menu planning and the development of new dishes.
- Prepare and cook meals according to our menu and customer preferences.
- Ensure high standards of food hygiene and safety are maintained.
- Manage inventory and ensure the proper handling of kitchen equipment.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth service and exceptional customer experiences.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar culinary role.
- Proven ability to prepare and cook high-quality food.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Creative flair and a passion for food.
- Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Desirable Attributes:
- Certificate III and IV in Cooking (preferred but not necessary).
- Experience in a cafe setting is advantageous.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
