Ventia is seeking an experienced Fitter and Turner / Armourer to support our long-standing Defence contract at Holsworthy, NSW. This is a unique prospect to apply your trade skills on specialised Defence equipment while contributing directly to the capability and readiness of the Australian Defence Force.

About the Role
As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the cleaning, repair, servicing, and modification of specialist Defence assets. Your work will include:
- Maintenance, inspection, installation and repair of military armaments
- Servicing and reconditioning of weapons, watercraft and small engines
- Operating machining equipment to produce or modify parts
- Fitting and assembling components to specification
- Interpreting technical drawings and job specifications
- Providing technical support and advice to equipment operators
- Accurate completion of data entry and documentation
- Actively participating in safety and continuous improvement programs
About You
You will bring strong trade skills, a proactive approach to safety, and pride in the quality of your work. We are looking for someone with:
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter and Turner)
- Armourer experience and/or qualifications
- Small engine experience or qualifications (desirable)
- Proficiency with lathes, mills and other metal-working machinery
- Experience with Oxy/Acetylene, Arc, MIG and TIG welding and general metal fabrication
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Please note: You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
