Remuneration: $116,892 - $120,680 per annum
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)
Location: North Parramatta, Cumberland Hospital

Join the Prevention, Early Intervention and Recovery Service (PEIRS) at Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) — a specialist community-based mental health service supporting children and young people aged 12–24 with complex and persistent mental health and neurodevelopmental challenges. Our supportive, collaborative and recovery-oriented team is based at North Parramatta, offering a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.

What you'll be doing
This Senior Occupational Therapist role within the PEIRS team focuses on providing high-quality care to young people with complex mental health needs. The position involves assessment, planning, and therapy,



while leading clinical supervision and collaborating with wider health services.

- Delivers specialised OT services to youth aged 12-25

- Develops and implements individual care plans

- Provides clinical supervision to junior staff and students

- Collaborates with families, carers, and community services

- Promotes quality improvement and person-centred care

Essential Requirements

- License: NSW Drivers licence (Current Class C (P2 acceptable) and willingness to drive for work purposes)

- Qualification: Degree in Occupational Therapy

- Registration: AHPRA Occupational Therapist – general registration

Selection Criteria

- Demonstrated mental health experience in the use of Occupational Therapy assessment tools, knowledge and experience working in a community mental health service, especially child and adolescent population.

- Demonstrated experience in evidence-based service provision and commitment to recovery-based programs, implementation and evaluation





- Ability to work both independently with minimum direct clinical supervision and as a member of a multidisciplinary team including demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.

- Demonstrated experience in student co-ordination and commitment to supervision of students, junior staff, implementing education programs and liaison with university placement co-ordinators.

- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills and time management skills.

- Demonstrated commitment to consumer participation in their treatment and care plan development, working with families and carers.

- Commitment and participation to ongoing education / professional development and Quality improvement programmes.
