What You'll Be Doing
The Assistant in Midwifery works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Midwife, supporting the midwifery team in the delivery of woman-centered care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team.
Selection Criteria
Completion of clinical and academic requirements of at least one clinical placement as part of the Bachelor of Midwifery programme, and currently enrolled in the programme with a clinical placement. Demonstrated understanding of delegation and ability to work within a plan of care under the supervision and direction of a registered midwife. Understanding of and dedication to woman centred care. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. through the use of information technology, written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work and ability to work within the scop of practice of an assistant in midwifery. Evidence of participation in personal development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills.
