The Town of Gawler is seeking an experienced and motivated Parking Compliance Officer to become an integral part of our Environmental & Regulatory Services team. Reporting to the Manager Environmental & Regulatory Services and Senior Community Safety Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring parking compliance across the region and undertaking enforcement procedures as required, including within private parking areas.

Key Responsibilities

- To undertake duties of a Parking Compliance Officer pursuant to the relevant Acts, Regulations and By‑Laws.
- Protect and promote a high standard of public safety to maintain the safety, security and amenity of residents and visitors to the Town of Gawler.
- Advise and liaise with customers and the community on matters related to applicable legislation.

About You

You will bring strong customer service skills, excellent attention to detail including accurate data entry and checking and effective organisational abilities. You will be a reliable, knowledgeable and community‑mindful Parking Compliance Officer who takes pride in contributing to public safety.

You will be required to work within established guidelines and processes, ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation and within delegated authority. You will communicate effectively with colleagues and liaise with relevant service providers and suppliers.

You will have:

- Current unimpeded class C driver’s license.
- National Criminal Record (Police) Clearance with no adverse findings.
- Strong customer service skills with demonstrated experience in effective communication.
- Experience or demonstrated capability in regulatory field work and working with the public.
- Understanding of, or experience with, mobile technology such as tablets and portable devices used for field‑based work.
- Experience working in a team environment with public safety goals.
