S & A Truck Centre is a well-established heavy-vehicle repair workshop located in Wetherill Park. We specialise in truck servicing, repairs, and HVIS inspections across major brands such as Kenworth, Mack, Volvo, Freightliner, and more. Our team is expanding, and we are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our professional and supportive workshop.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy vehicles. This is a hands-on, full-time position suited to someone with strong mechanical knowledge and pride in quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on heavy vehicles
- Perform scheduled servicing, brake and clutch repairs, and engine overhauls
- Conduct safety inspections, road worthiness checks, and HVIS preparation
- Use diagnostic equipment and technical manuals effectively
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and comply with WHS standards
- Communicate with management and customers regarding repair progress
Skills & Experience
- AQF Certificate IV or Certificate III with at least two years on-the-job training
- OR
- three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications
- Minimum two years of relevant Australian work experience (three years if no qualification)
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
- Sound understanding of workplace WHS procedures
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a teamRequirements
- Current CV and cover letter outlining relevant experience
- Proof of Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work rights
- Ability to commute to or relocate to Wetherill Park NSW 2164
