Remuneration: $74,317.93 - $104,336.26 per annum / $37.48 - $52.62 per hour
Hours Per Week: up to 38

Westmead Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is one of the busiest and most specialised units in NSW, providing expert care for critically ill, premature, and medically complex neonates. Located alongside The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and within the state’s largest birthing hospital, our NICU is at the forefront of neonatal medicine, evidence-based care and research.

We are currently seeking experienced Neonatal Registered Nurses (or other Critical Care Registered Nurses) with a passion for neonatal care to join our dynamic, high-acuity team.

What you'll be doing
As a Registered Nurse in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to neonates,



working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal health outcomes.

- Provide specialised nursing care in accordance with individual care plans
- Monitor and respond to changes in patients' health status with clinical expertise
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold legal and ethical care standards
- Educate, mentor and support junior nursing staff and students
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Essential Criteria:

- Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Selection Criteria:

- Previous relevant clinical experience in neonatal intensive care.
- Proven ability to effectively organise and prioritise tasks while exercising sound judgement and initiative.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Proven ability to care for ventilated neonate.
- Have sound problem solving skills,



in accordance with the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.
- Ability to escalate clinical concerns to the Nursing Unit Manager or senior clinician after attempting to resolve matter.
