What you'll be doing
As the Dietitian Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting Clinical Dietitians in delivering safe, effective, and timely nutrition care to patients. You will undertake nutrition risk screening, provide simple nutrition interventions, and act as a key liaison with Food Services to ensure patients' dietary needs are met.

- Conduct nutrition risk screening, triage outcomes, and escalate or intervene in line with departmental procedures




- Monitor menu selections and mealtime intake for identified ‘at-risk’ patients and implement appropriate interventions under supervision
- Contribute to clinical supervision activities, reflective practice, and development of junior staff and students
- Maintain accurate patient records, departmental documentation, statistics, and care plans
- Assist in developing patient education resources, support administrative tasks, and help manage enteral feed stock levels

Essential Criteria:

- Qualification: Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Nutrition Stream), or relevant University nutrition qualification, or willingness to obtain qualification within 12 months of commencement

Selection Criteria:

1. Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to provide clinical support to the Clinical Dietitian.

2. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of therapeutic diets

3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of the CBORD Diet Office program System and its role in hospital nutrition provision.

4. Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills.

5.



Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

6. Availability to work across 5 days, Monday to Friday.

7. Qualification in Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (Nutrition Stream), or relevant University nutrition qualification.
