The Opportunity
We're looking for 2 experienced Medical Receptionists to join us on 6-month casual contracts, with strong potential for extension and permanent conversion. These roles are covering maternity leave initially, but with our second site opening in early 2026, there are genuine opportunities for growth and more hours.
Key details:
- $26-$35 per hour plus super (rate based on experience and award)
- Minimum 15 hours per week, likely more as you cover leave and expand across sites
- You'll work across both our Inala and Yeerongpilly locations as needed (both sites have different trading hours)
- Flexibility is a must
Your Day-to-Day
You'll be the friendly face and reassuring voice our patients rely on. Your responsibilities include:
- Booking, cancelling and rescheduling appointments
- Taking calls from patients and answering their questions with care
- Making sure messages reach the right team member quickly
- Processing Medicare and WorkCover billings
- Helping our doctors and nurses with basic IT troubleshooting (printer dramas, computer hiccups - you know the drill)
- Supporting our practice manager and operations manager as needed
- Lending a hand to the clinical team when they need you
And plenty more. Reception at Inala is wide-ranging, busy, and never boring.
What You'll Bring
You'll need:
- At least 1 year of medical reception experience
- Experience working with multicultural communities or the ability to work comfortably with non-English speaking patients
- Flexibility to increase hours when the practice needs you
- The ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment
- Strong multitasking skills - you can juggle competing priorities without dropping the ball
- Moderate computer skills
Bonus points for:
- Best Practice software experience
- Knowledge of MBS items, Medicare and WorkCover
- Some IT troubleshooting knowledge
