We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Arborist to join our team at the City of Swan on a fixed term full time basis until 27 November 2026. Ideally, you’ll be an outcome driven individual that likes to see the tangible differences you can make within the community environment.

This position specialises in the care and maintenance of trees within the City of Swan and involves various tasks focused on the health, safety and aesthetics of trees.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

- Inspect and assess the health and safety of trees in public spaces
- Strong understanding of Excel and other working programmes with expectation to provide technical and administration support
- Undertake inspections, audits and administration tasks associated with tree management.
- Make sound recommendations for remedial work based on inspection and audit findings
- Identify and refer items requiring external arboriculture inspection
- Perform pruning and removal of trees as required
- Manage tree-related issues including diseases, pests and damage
- Ensure compliance with Work, Health and Safety legislation and safety practices, policy and procedures
- Delivery of customer service with a focus on community wellbeing
- Assist in the development of skill levels within the team by providing specialist on the job training to other employees as required, and occasional staff supervision

The successful candidate will have the following:

- Certificate III in Arboriculture
- Extensive experience in the safe and efficient operation of chainsaws, trailer mounted wood chippers and elevated work platforms (EWP)
- Knowledge of tree felling and tree pruning techniques
- MR Class Motor Vehicle Licence
- Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card)




- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain for employment
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management Certificate
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate

The salary for this position will be from $77,769.79 - $78,723.95 per annum (includes loading), depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
