About the Role
Our industry partner, Steakhouse Wetherill Park Pty Ltd, is seeking skilled and passionate Chefs to join their energetic kitchen team.
This hands-on position involves the preparation and cooking of a diverse range of steakhouse dishes, with a strong focus on quality meats, bold flavours, and consistent presentation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Execute preparation and cooking of menu items, including steaks, ribs, burgers, and sides, under the direction of the Senior Chef.
2. Ensure consistency in quality, portioning, and presentation across all service periods.
3. Coordinate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and smooth kitchen operations.
4. Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently for both à la carte and function service.
5.
Collaborate with senior kitchen staff to innovate and improve menu offerings and kitchen workflow.
6. Support stock control measures and contribute to the reduction of food waste.
7. Adhere strictly to food safety standards and procedures, including HACCP compliance.
Skills and Experience
1. Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment is required.
2. Previous experience in a steakhouse, grill, or high-volume casual dining restaurant is highly regarded.
3. Strong knowledge of meat preparation, grilling techniques, and flavour balancing.
4. Ability to consistently follow recipes and deliver high-quality, well-presented dishes.
5. Capability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to consistency.
7. A team-oriented mindset with a positive and professional attitude.
8. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
