About the Position

The City of South Perth is seeking casual Community Rangers (Event Support) to assist the Ranger Services Team during the New Year's Eve fireworks at the South Perth Foreshore. Successful applicants will be paired with a City Ranger for the duration of the shift as part of our safety approach.



The role is primarily focused on increasing on-ground presence, visibility, and support across the event footprint.

Key responsibilities:

- Work alongside a City Ranger to provide a strong, visible on-ground presence.
- Assist with crowd management and public engagement, including providing directions and event information.
- Support Rangers to manage minor incidents and challenging behaviours, and help maintain a safe environment.
- Observe, report, and communicate issues to the Ranger team as required.

Qualified/ experienced Rangers are preferred due to the nature of interactions and the need to understand relevant legal and compliance considerations.

The ideal candidate for this position will need to demonstrate:

- Previous experience in a Ranger position.
- Strong understanding of and experience in the interpretation and enforcement of relevant Acts and Local Law.
- Ability to follow and implement directions and procedures.
- Well developed customer service skills with the ability to facilitate conflict resolution.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- A high standard of public relations and interpersonal skills.
- Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.





This casual position attracts an hourly rate of $45.20 to $52.71 plus 25% casual loading and superannuation.
