We are now seeking a talented and passionate Chef to lead our kitchen operations and contribute to the continued success of our establishment.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and creative Chef who can take charge of menu planning, kitchen operations, and daily food preparation. This is a key leadership position requiring strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Plan inspiring, flavour-forward menus that reflect Brighton Soul’s identity, while accurately estimating food and labour costs and coordinating timely supply orders.
2. Maintain exceptional quality standards by monitoring dishes throughout every stage of preparation and presentation.
3. Collaborate closely with Managers, kitchen and front-of-house teams to resolve food preparation concerns and ensure smooth service.
4. Demonstrate cooking techniques and mentor team members,
providing guidance on best-practice methods and efficient kitchen procedures.
5. Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes with consistency, creativity, and the high standards expected at Brighton Soul.
6. Uphold, explain, and enforce strict hygiene, food safety, and workplace health regulations.
7. Recruit, train, and support kitchen staff to build a skilled, motivated, and cohesive team.
8. Manage freezing, preservation, and storage processes as needed, ensuring freshness, quality, and compliance while adapting procedures to Brighton Soul’s operational needs.
Qualifications Required
1. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
2. Diploma in Hospitality Management.
3. One year of relevant experience in the related field.
