About City of Port Phillip
We are a vibrant and diverse inner-city council stretching 20kms from South to Port Melbourne along the stunning bay beaches down to Elwood and out to St Kilda East with around 1000 people who all work together to deliver more than 100 programs and services to our engaged community of residents, businesses and visitors. What’s the role all about
We have a passionate and driven team who all work together to deliver arts and cultural services and programs that positively benefit our community.
The role is responsible for delivering arts and heritage programs and services and will assist the team to enhance community engagement and awareness. Supporting public programs, Council’s Cultural Heritage Reference Group and applications for current memorials and monuments.
What you might do
- Planning, implementing and evaluating arts and heritage programs and initiatives
- Develop interpretative materials and educational content from Port Phillip’s City Collection that drives visitation and engagement from diverse audiences.
- Oversight of art and heritage activities with direct digital platform linkage, such as: guided and self-guided walks, trails, tours, podcasts and mapping.
- Liaise with stakeholders and community partners, including managing Council’s Cultural Heritage Reference Group and Memorials and Monuments application process.
Who we are looking for
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a dynamic range of arts and heritage engagement programs.
- An understanding of the public sector, and a passion for its role in supporting arts, heritage and cultural services.
- The proven ability to manage digital and in-person projects, programs or events including planning, administration, budget management, delivery and evaluation.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
