Boilermaker Welder / Fabricator – Rail Workshop - Keysborough:
- $41.00 - $35.00 Per hour (Inclusive of casual loading) + Applicable Allowances.
- Day Shift, Mon – Thurs 6.00am / 2.30pm, Fri 6.00am – 12.00pm – Sporadic Saturday Shifts.
- February Start, Initial 3 – 6 Months Contract with permanent pathway possibilities.
Fabrication – Rail Component – Workshop.
Company Overview:
Our Valued Rail services client is one of the largest integrated & diversified suppliers of railroad, transit system products & services in Australia.
Opportunities currently exist for Boilermaker / Fabricators who will be undertaking mining & rail production fabrication projects simultaneously to join their team on a day shift Mon – Fri basis, at a fixed purpose built workshop location in Keysborough.
Role Tasks & Duties:
The role includes but not limited to:
- Welding of mild steel (MIG), stainless steel (MIG/TIG) & Aluminium (TIG).
- Primary tasks will be welding of pantographs in base frame, including the lower arms and upper arms, most of the components are precut and welded together using jigs mounted on rotating T piece in a controlled workshop environment.
- Your tasks will also consist of completing machine cutting with a Brobo Cold saw, pressing & milling of rail components.
- Interpreting detailed schematic drawings to ensure accurate works which is confirming to the relevant Australian standards.
- Forklift & Overhead crane operating to reposition large scale components & material movements in a fast-paced rail workshop.
- Provide recommendations to management on methods and procedures with a view to more efficient operations of maintenance.
Required Skills, Experience and Competencies:
- Australian Trade Diploma Certification III in Welding fabrication.
- Must have a minimum of X2 years proven heavy industry sector (Mining, Aviation, Naval, Earth / Mobile Plant & Bus industry).
- Previous experience on rail, freight maintenance or service activities highly desirable or heavy maintenance components
- Must be able read, comprehend and apply technical drawings, high level of record keeping & have good attention to detail
- Ability to proactively organise / prioritise work task in a professional efficient manner both in an autonomous and team workshop.
- High level problem solving, communication & interpersonal skills.
- Ability & willingness to further their knowledge through training.
Additional requirements:
- Passing a pre-employment medical.
- Australian fulltime working rights.
- A valid HRW LF Forklift License & Overhead crane verification of competency advantageous.
