About the Role

Veale Auto Parts is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team in Midland.

The Assistant Store Manager will play a crucial role in assisting the running of the store in various aspects of store operations, including staff management, customer service, inventory management, and administration. This hands‑on role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for the automotive industry and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and monitor daily store operations, including staff management and task allocation.
- Maintain a clean, safe and presentable store presentation for customers, at all times.
- Ensure effective stock management and stock replenishment processes and practices are followed, by monitoring store inventory levels to ensure product availability.
- Provide ongoing training, coaching and support to team members to ensure high levels of performance and customer service are maintained.
- Deliver high standards of customer service, providing additional support when required especially during peak trading periods.
- Conduct regular audits of the store to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Process sales transactions when necessary and generate daily sales reports.




- Maintain a high standard of ethics and professionalism as per company policy and procedures.
- Promptly communicate absences, operational issues or concerns to management, adhering to escalation procedures to support smooth and efficient store operations.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace and assist with housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all road rules and vehicle maintenance policies when using company vehicles.
- Ensure showroom levels are maintained, and items are stocked appropriately.
- Demonstrate efficiency in banking and store operating procedures.
- Foster a professional image to fellow employees, customers and the community, at all times.
- Deliver and assist with training and development of team members.

What we are looking for?

- Previous experience in a leadership role dealing with car parts and trade customers.
- Passionate about cars, learning more about automotive parts and the automotive industry.
- Great attention to detail.
- Demonstrate initiative while maintaining clear team communication and promptly seeking assistance from management when encountering challenges.
- Be available to work some Saturday mornings.
- Demonstrate reliability, valuable decision making skills and conflict resolution.
