Job Description
An exciting opportunity has become available in our Waste and Infrastructure Maintenance Department on a permanent full-time basis.
The City of Subiaco have a fleet of 4 waste trucks and a team that provide general waste, FOGO and recycling services across our residential and commercial properties. Infrastructure Maintenance includes the maintenance of the City’s roads, pathways/laneways, lighting, drainage, graffiti, signs & street infrastructure.
In this role, the successful applicant will work to provide a high standard of customer service and administrative support to both the Waste & Infrastructure Maintenance teams. We are solutions focused and pride ourselves on assisting our community with a high standard of customer service.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
- Customer Service
- Provide efficient, engaging, and professional customer service for all waste and infrastructure service enquiries and resolve issues, with the ability to multitask and complete administration tasks and customer calls simultaneously.
- Assist & manage internal and external stakeholders with their waste and infrastructure maintenance requirements and requests.
- Administration
- Provide administrative support to the Waste and Infrastructure Branch utilising all forms of written electronic communication including email correspondence, completing agendas/minutes/tender documents, memos, and reports.
- Accounting duties including purchase orders and goods receipting, tracking orders, managing contractor accounts enquiries.
- Daily: manage and action all correspondence into the City of Subiaco through the Customer Relationship Management system, TechOne.
- Manage Waste email correspondence with internal & external stakeholders.
- Update the City of Subiaco website in relation to waste and infrastructure services.
- Manage all waste and infrastructure correspondence/corporate documents using the City’s record keeping system, CM9.
- Manage the ordering of collateral, uniforms, and stock for the Waste & Infrastructure teams.
- Provide information for field teams via 2 way and email.
- Manage administration duties.
- Conduct onsite bin audits utilising City of Subiaco's pool vehicle.
- Project Management
- Undertake or assist with the planning and delivery of waste and sustainability projects.
- Assist with contract documentation and tender document preparation and panel review.
- Liaise with various organisations including state government departments, other local authorities, non-government organisations and external stakeholders.
- Update and maintain online databases.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Ability to handle high volumes of work and multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced workplace.
- Experience in the waste management industry including waste recycling, reduction, recovery, and waste legislation is an advantage but not essential.
- Demonstrated competence in several key skills areas related to major elements of the job.

Salary range:
In line with the City of Subiaco Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025, this position is classified as a Level 4. The salary range is $74,220.64 to $84,667.44 per annum, exclusive of superannuation.
