Overview

Join East Metropolitan Health Service as a Registered Midwife and become part of a team that provides women‑centred care within the scope of practice for a registered Midwife. You will serve in one of our inclusive hospitals in the East Metropolitan region, delivering high‑standard maternity care while embracing community‑focused collaboration.

Responsibilities

- Provide antenatal counselling, assessment and education.
- Deliver intrapartum care and support women during birth.
- Offer post‑natal support, assessment and education.
- Provide community and ancillary services for women and families.
- Participate in the well‑established Midwifery Group Practice, including the award‑winning Boodjari Yorgas service that supports Aboriginal maternal health and wellbeing.
- Seek ongoing professional development and potential promotional roles within inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

- Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligible to apply.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency is essential for permanent positions.
- Documentation of entitlement to live and work in Australia for the duration of a fixed‑term contract.

Recruitment is open for permanent full‑time, permanent part‑time, fixed‑term full‑time, fixed‑term part‑time and casual positions for 12 months. Appointments may be made from the pool until 03/08/2026.
