Job Description

This role sits in the Parks and Environment team within the Technical Services directorate and involves the research, planning and delivery of a comprehensive range of projects and initiatives surrounding the environment, sustainability, climate change mitigation and adaption, greening, biodiversity and water conversation.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

- Develop strategic projects that support the outcomes of Organisational Plans and Strategies
- Outline project benefits, deliverables, scope of work, budget, stakeholders and work break-down structure in project plan documentation.
- Implement projects under the City of Subiaco's Environment Plan and Council Plan including the review and delivery of an updated Environment Plan
- Liaise with various organisations, including State Government departments, other local authorities, education institutions, stakeholder groups and non-government organisations to implement local and regional environmental projects.
- Promote community awareness and understanding of environmental and sustainable development issues
- Provide information and advice on environmental, sustainability and landscape issues for Council,



City staff and the general public through events, publicity avenues (social media, media releases, website) and Elected Member Information Bulletins.
- Prepare reports, correspondence and other documentation on environmental and sustainability issues in Subiaco.

Essential criteria:

- Highly developed interpersonal and organisation skills
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, related discipline and/or demonstrated experience
- Competence in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to interpret landscape plans and relevant documentation
- Knowledge of urban wetlands, water sensitive urban design and urban water projects and their management.
- Commitment and passion for providing leadership and services for a sustainable environment.
- Practical skills and knowledge of local native flora and fauna for environmental programs and landscaping within an urban context
- Practical skills and knowledge of delivering landscape-based outcomes for environmental programs.
- Current WA Drivers Licence.

Salary package:

In line with the City of Subiaco Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025, this position is classified as a Level 6 and the salary range is $97,864 to $107,640 per annum, exclusive of superannuation
