What you’ll do
- Provide independent legal advice to support strategic decisions.
- Advise on applicable regulatory regimes, including rail industry specific legislative requirements.
- Draft and negotiate key commercial contracts (customer, supplier, property).
- Assist with dispute resolution and litigation strategy.
- Develop compliance programs and manage reporting obligations.
- Collaborate on best‑practice legal tools and methodologies.
- Support policy development, training, and knowledge sharing.
- Manage external legal advisers as needed.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) and admitted to practice in Australia.
- Minimum 4 years’ legal experience in private practice and / or in‑house.
- Strong expertise in commercial contracts; experience in property, planning, and environmental law desirable.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation,
and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast‑paced environment.
- Collaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the rail industry and logistics is advantageous.
