Job description:
Reporting to Director - Investment and Sector Development, Offshore Wind Energy Victoria, the Manager, Auction Design leads a small team to support the establishment of the offshore wind sector for Victoria, including the provision of strategic and authoritative advice on auction design, procurement options and financial support mechanisms. The Manager will liaise closely with other areas of DEECA and other government departments, including central agencies, as well as external stakeholders to ensure the optimal design of the offshore wind program.
The suitable candidate for this role will be an experienced and capable policy/project and people manager, who has an agile mindset, open to learning from the experiences in international jurisdictions, and an ability to lead by example. The position requires exceptional policy skills, commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills and clear and succinct written and verbal communication skills. The team culture is dynamic, collaborative, diverse and supportive of allowing team members to work flexibly within a rapid-paced environment.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification(s) including post-graduate qualification(s) in economics, law or public policy is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex policy and/or projects is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial contracts management and processes at a senior level, including provision of strategic advice to government is desirable.
This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2027.
The work location for this position is Melbourne CBD with hybrid work arrangements available.
