Osborne Richardson are proud to partner with Quilpie Shire Council in South West Queensland, and we've got a cracking permanent opportunity for a licensed Plumber who wants to make a real difference in a tight-knit outback community.

This is a hands-on role leading Council's Water and Sewerage crew, keeping essential services flowing across the Shire. If you love variety, take pride in your workmanship and enjoy passing your know-how on to the next generation, this one's worth a look.

What you'll be doing

- Plumbing and drainage construction, maintenance and operation across Council's water supply networks, sewerage infrastructure, pump stations, treatment facilities, buildings and parks
- Planning and coordinating daily works, including labour, plant, equipment and materials
- Carrying out water and sewerage sampling and testing in line with Council's Drinking Water Quality Management Plan (DWQMP)
- Providing sound technical advice to Council staff, contractors, regulators and the public
- Mentoring apprentices and labourers through on-the-job training and coaching
- Keeping accurate records of works, inspections, testing results and asset information
- Operating and maintaining plant and equipment,



and travelling to sites throughout the Shire

What you'll need

1. Trade qualification in Plumbing and Drainage
2. Working knowledge of plumbing, drainage and wastewater management standards and relevant legislation
3. Knowledge of Drinking Water Quality Management Plans
4. Current Queensland MR Class licence (or willing to obtain)
5. Current General Construction Induction (White) Card
6. Current Tetanus, Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B immunisations (or willing to obtain)
7. Ability to read engineering design drawings, plus basic job costing and sound communication skills

Local government water and sewerage experience and an HR licence would be a big plus, but aren't essential.
