We might just have the perfect front-of-house role for you!
OUR COMPANY
Priah Chartered Accountants provides accounting, taxation and business advisory services to individuals, small to medium businesses, investment entities and SMSFs.
We do accounting really well, but we also believe that dealing with your accountant shouldn't be boring, intimidating or unnecessarily complicated.
We intentionally build relationships with clients who want more than a once-a-year conversation. We work collaboratively and proactively to help them achieve their financial and business goals.
Internally, we have that same approach. We value clear systems, accountability and continuous improvement. We embrace technology, automation and new ideas, and we're not afraid to challenge the way things have always been done.
Our values are Passion, Reliability, Innovation, Authenticity, Honesty and, importantly, Fun!
Our Lyneham office is bright, colourful and full of personality. There's plenty of banter, music and laughter because we believe you should enjoy the place where you spend a large part of your week.
We aren't robots, and we don't expect you to be either!
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As our Client Relation Officer, you'll be the welcoming face of Priah and a key part of creating the experience our clients have with us.
This is a front-of-house position combining reception responsibilities, client relationship management and administrative coordination.
You’ll be the first point of contact for clients visiting or contacting our office, making sure they feel welcomed, comfortable and confident they’re in good hands.
But your role doesn't stop at the front desk.
You’ll also take ownership of coordinating client communication, following up outstanding information, supporting the onboarding process and helping keep work progressing between our clients and accounting team.
Ultimately, we want someone who can make clients feel like they’re part of the Priah family, rather than just another number on an accountant's spreadsheet.
YOUR ROLE
You’ll be at the centre of the action, balancing the day-to-day demands of a busy reception with the proactive coordination of our client relationships.
You’ll need to be comfortable switching between welcoming visitors, answering phones, responding to client enquiries and following up outstanding actions,
all while maintaining a professional and positive experience.
We’re looking for someone who can see what needs doing, take initiative and follow things through without needing constant direction.
Most importantly, you’ll understand that being front of house isn’t just about answering the phone and greeting clients. It’s about setting the tone for their entire experience with Priah.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Front of House & Reception: Be the welcoming face and voice of Priah, greeting visitors, managing incoming calls and enquiries, and ensuring our reception area is professional, organised and inviting.
- Client Relationships: Build genuine relationships with clients, making sure they feel comfortable, informed and valued throughout their interactions with our firm.
- Client Communication & Follow-Up: Proactively request outstanding information, communicate deadlines and next steps, and keep clients updated on matters requiring their attention.
- Client Onboarding: Coordinate the administrative onboarding process, ensuring new clients receive the information, documentation and support they need to get started.
- Meeting Coordination: Manage appointments, prepare meeting requirements and follow up outstanding actions to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Workflow Coordination: Work closely with our accounting and administration teams to keep client jobs progressing and identify potential delays before they become problems.
- Lead & Enquiry Management: Respond to prospective client enquiries, coordinate initial conversations and ensure potential clients receive a outstanding first impression.
- Client Experience & Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce client frustrations and make dealing with Priah easier and more enjoyable.
- Administrative Support: Assist with general office administration and client-related tasks to support the smooth operation of the practice.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
We’re looking for someone who brings more than a good resume to the table.
You’ll be someone who:
- Loves People: You’re genuinely interested in others, enjoy building relationships and can make people feel welcome from the moment they walk through the door.
- Communicates Confidently: You’re friendly and professional, whether you’re answering the phone, writing an email or following up a client who hasn’t provided what we need.
- Stays Organised: You can juggle competing priorities, interruptions and deadlines while keeping track of the key details.
- Takes Ownership: If you say you’ll do something, you follow through.
You don’t assume someone else will pick it up.
- Shows Initiative: You identify what needs doing, solve problems and suggest improvements rather than waiting to be told.
- Has an Eye for Detail: You take pride in producing accurate work and understand the importance of handling client information carefully.
- Embraces Technology: You’re confident using Microsoft Office, willing to learn new systems and enjoy finding ways to work smarter. Bonus points if Canva feels more like a playground than a chore!
- Brings Personality: You enjoy a bit of banter, have a positive attitude and know how to balance fun with professionalism.
- Wants to Grow: You’re motivated to develop your skills, embrace feedback and take on additional responsibility.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in an accounting firm or professional services environment would be highly regarded.
- Experience in reception, front-of-house, customer service, client relationships or administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence learning current software.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy office environment.
- Sound judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Certificate III in Business, Business Administration or a similar qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
ORGANISATIONAL FIT
At Priah, we have a team of diverse personalities, experiences and opinions, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
We want someone who is enthusiastic, accountable and willing to contribute to the success of the whole team.
We encourage people to speak up, challenge ideas and suggest better ways of doing things. Healthy disagreement is welcome, but once a decision is made, we expect everyone to get behind it.
We work hard, support each other and take pride in what we deliver. If you’re someone who enjoys being part of a team, brings positive energy to the office and isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves, you’ll fit right in.
OUR PROMISE TO YOU
- A fun, supportive and colourful workplace with plenty of personality.
- Diverse and interesting clients who make every day different.
- A genuine commitment to work-life balance. We don't expect you to live at the office!
- Opportunities to develop your skills and grow your career.
- Recognition and reward for the value you bring to the business.
- The chance to contribute ideas and make a real difference to how we operate.
- And, of course, plenty of opportunities to brush up on your banter!
REMUNERATION
We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 to $80,000 per annum, plus superannuation, depending on your skills and experience.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, embraces responsibility and is motivated to deliver a consistently high standard. In return, you’ll have the opportunity to grow professionally and be recognised for your contribution to Priah.
