About The Role
We are looking for a talented front-end developer to join our small, collaborative Engineering team. In this role, you will help shape Sonder’s technology as we scale our platform and services. You will build high-quality web application features, contribute to greenfield projects, and work with colleagues across the development and delivery lifecycle. You will collaborate with engineers across backend, frontend, and mobile, as well as product and engineering leaders. The team recently released a new iOS platform, with an Android app planned for release in the coming months. You will also have opportunities to contribute to mobile solution architecture and work with technologies supporting RESTful microservices, mapping, real-time positioning, and navigation. Qualifications The successful candidate will bring practical experience developing front-end web applications and a commitment to writing maintainable, well-tested software. ReactJS experience is preferred; experience with Angular or Vue is also welcome. Familiarity with test automation tools such as Mocha and Chai, or similar frameworks, will be valuable. You should be comfortable understanding project requirements, communicating technical needs, and collaborating with developers and stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important,



as is the ability to contribute quality code and provide technical leadership within a multifunctional team. A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is expected. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia. Responsibilities Develop, implement, review, and document standards-based front-end code that is reliable, optimised, and aligned with product requirements. Work with developers and stakeholders to ensure Sonder’s systems and applications meet business objectives and provide a positive experience for end users. Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, including planning, analysis, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. Help clarify requirements, communicate dependencies, and implement requested functionality. Follow software development best practices and support automated testing that meets agreed quality and coverage expectations. Participate in code reviews, share knowledge, and contribute to the design and evolution of the mobile and web solution architecture.
