Elim Tiling Pty Ltd is a Brisbane-based tiling contractor servicing residential and commercial projects. We are seeking an experienced full-time Wall and Floor Tiler to join our team. The position is ongoing and involves work across multiple job sites in the greater Brisbane area.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Interpret plans, measure and mark surfaces to be covered and lay out work
- Prepare wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, cement and adhesive, filling holes and cracks, and cleaning surfaces
- Attach tiles to surfaces using the correct adhesive, ensuring patterned tiles match
- Cut and shape tiles for edges, corners and around obstacles such as fittings and pipes using tile-cutting tools
- Space and level tiles using spirit levels, squares and plumblines
- Prepare and apply grout, remove excess grout, and clean and polish tiles
- Lay floors of cement, granolithic, terrazzo or similar composition
- Apply waterproofing systems
Skills and experience required:
- AQF Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling (including at least two years of on-the-job training) or AQF Certificate IV; OR at least three years of relevant work experience in lieu of formal qualifications
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Valuable hand-eye coordination, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Current driver's licence and ability to travel between job sites
- White Card (General Construction Induction) or willingness to obtain
