Key responsibilities and duties

· Season food during cooking and taste dishes to maintain consistent flavour and quality.

· Prepare ingredients by cleaning, cutting, portioning, marinating, seasoning and undertaking other food preparation activities.

· Assist with menu preparation and current food offerings where required.

· Examine meat, chicken, vegetables, seafood and other ingredients on delivery and before use to ensure freshness, quality and suitability for cooking.

· Operate and regulate the temperature of ovens grills, burners and other commercial cooking equipment.

· Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.

· Store food in temperature- controlled facilities, and label, date and rotate stock in accordance with food safety requirements.

· Clean and maintain cooking equipment, utensils and food preparation areas, and follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times.

· Assist with estimating food requirements and monitoring stock levels to support efficient kitchen operations and minimise wastage.





· Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points.

· Assist in training and supporting junior kitchen staff where required.

What We’re looking for:

· Must have a minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Hospitality industry.

· Must completed Cert III or 3- years’ experience.

· Strong communication skills.

· Ability to maintain high standards of food.

· Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

· Strong knowledge and understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene.

· Sound understanding of stock control and cost management principles.

-Must have prior experience with pan cooking.

· Reliable punctual and able to work as part of a team.

· A positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.

Additional information

· Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 month

· Applicant must have full working rights in Australia

Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
