About the Role

We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced Disability Support Worker - Personal Care. This role focuses on building strong, positive relationships with participant while supporting them in their daily lives.

Support Schedule:

9 AM to 11 AM - Tuesday, 9 AM to 1 PM - Wednesday

Responsibilities:

- Provide individual support services and direct care for people with disability.
- Community Access: Support participants to attend appointments, explore the community, participate in social and recreational activities, and pursue their interests while promoting independence, confidence, and meaningful social connections.
- Assist with meal preparation: As a support worker, assisting with meal preparation involves helping clients plan and prepare meals that meet their dietary, medical, and cultural needs. Ensuring food safety and cleanliness is a key part of this role, as is observing and reporting any changes in appetite or eating habits.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of observations, interventions, and incidents that occur during the shift, including any changes in the individuals condition or behaviour.
- Assistance with Daily Living Activities: Providing assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming if needed.
- Communication: Communicating effectively with other members of the care team, including nurses, doctors, family and other team members, to ensure continuity of care and information sharing.
- Housekeeping Tasks: Performing light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up communal areas, doing laundry, and ensuring that the environment is clean and safe for the individuals under their care.
- Compliance with Policies and Procedures:



Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations governing the provision of care and support services, including maintaining confidentiality and respecting the rights and dignity of the individuals they support.

Requirements

- Experience supporting individuals with personal care needs
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (or equivalent experience)
- Current First Aid and CPR
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence, Car and insurance
