Are you an experienced Import Operator who enjoys managing shipments end to end, solving operational challenges and keeping customers informed every step of the way?

We are partnering with a global freight forwarding business seeking a capable Import Operator to join its team in Matraville. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the full import process, working closely with customers, overseas agents and transport partners to ensure shipments move efficiently from order creation through to final delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing import shipments from order creation through customs clearance and final delivery.
- Coordinating with overseas offices, agents, shipping lines, suppliers, customs brokers and transport providers.
- Monitoring shipment progress, proactively identifying delays and resolving issues before they impact customers.
- Ensuring shipping documentation, customs requirements and operational records are accurate and up to date.
- Arranging clearances, transport and final delivery, including urgent and time-sensitive shipments.
- Providing proactive shipment updates and responding to customer enquiries.
- Investigating and resolving operational, documentation, delivery and billing issues.




- Maintaining accurate shipment data and ensuring company procedures and service standards are followed.

What you will bring:

- Proven experience in freight forwarding, with strong hands-on import operations knowledge.
- Demonstrated experience managing shipments from order creation through to final delivery.
- A solid understanding of import documentation, customs clearance and transport coordination.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with customers and multiple stakeholders.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A high level of ownership, accuracy and accountability, with the ability to work independently.
